Help
Connect your domain to your website.
It takes about 10 minutes at your domain provider, and you only do it once. Your exact records are on your website's page in your dashboard.
1. The steps
- Log in where your domain's DNS is managed. Usually that's where you bought it. Your dashboard tells you if it's somewhere else.
- Find the DNS settings (sometimes called “DNS records”, “Manage DNS” or “Advanced DNS”).
- Add the two records from your dashboard: an A record for
@and a CNAME record forwww. Copy the values exactly. - Remove old records for the same names: any other A or AAAA record for
@, and any other record forwww. - Wait. It usually works within a few hours, occasionally up to 48. We check for you and email you when it's connected.
2. Be careful with these
- Leave your MX and TXT records alone. They run your email.
- Don't change your nameservers. Only the two records above need to change.
- Using Cloudflare? Set both records to “DNS only” (the grey cloud), not “Proxied”.
- Already have a website on this domain? Wait until we tell you your new site is live, so your current site keeps working until then.
3. Steps for your provider
Menus change from time to time, so each provider's section ends with a link to its own help. These were checked on 27 October 2026.
4. Can't log in, or not sure?
We'll help. Some providers (including GoDaddy, Cloudflare and Namecheap) let you give us delegate access without sharing your password, and we can make the changes for you. Otherwise we'll talk you through it. We'll never ask for your password.
5. Need a domain?
Register it in your own name, so it always belongs to you. A .co.uk or .uk usually costs a few pounds a year. UK providers include 123 Reg, Fasthosts, IONOS, Krystal and LCN. Once you have it, tell us and we'll connect it.
